perSonas pace Empty perSonas pace

PerSonas has a very fast pace. Actually a bit too fast.

In order to mitigate this a bit, we want the action to still be there, but we want' to prevent things from becoming out of control, as many perSonas fights become.

Here are some of the proposed ideas on the table:
- Reduced income growth
- Rebalancing of items
- General hero makeovers to decrease potential of instantaneous damaging abilities
- More exploration on how to incorporate defensive tactics into heroes (like perSonas switching)
- Possibly increases perSonas cooldown from 6 -> 8
- Forcing every hero to have at least one passive (which carries over to both perSonas)

While these changes may not be in the very next release (which is just bug fixes and balancing), this is the scope for the next big version of perSonas.

I like all of the ideas except the increased perSonas swap cooldown.

I especially like the passives that carry over onto your other hero, and re-balancing of items (because this is very necessary).

I think it might be a good idea just to make a lot of this stuff selectable at beginning. Maybe with a window that pops up. Host chooses kill limit, domination victory on/off , switch time cooldown. things like that i think might be kinda nice!

I still think fast paced is good.

A lot of people like perSonas because it doesn't take forever like donta.

game length and game pace are separate things

the problem with dota is there's a huge lull between levels 9 and 16 - your spells aren't scoring kills the way they used to, there's nowhere to farm really, and you basically either push and end it early or kill time until one team gets some stacked heroes.

i don't think perSonas would encounter that problem, and if it does we can find ways to work around it - i.e. we would cut out that time

however the fast income isn't good

part of that is due to the fact that with two heroes you have a lot more nukes + ways to kill heroes, so items can take a backseat. however if you put the effort into farming you will get a gamechanging item, rather than "just another big item to push the damage to a retarded level"

i doubt perSonas pace will ever slow to dota's if we keep no mana cost on spells and shields.

those two things naturally cause the game to be more action packed, and therefore, "feeling" faster paced. and those two thigns aren't going away.

what IS going away is the item that gives you 60 dmg, 60 attack speed, -15 armor on attack and the ability to get that item very quickly.

i agree in principle but here's another angle to look at:
- fast paced gameplay is funner, but it gets old quicker
- perSonas currently has no real strategic depth, partially because of its pace -- the pace renders lots of strategies useless
- the fast pace is often too chaotic and hard to control for certain players

we wanna keep a fast pace (certainly faster than dota) BUT, we want to reduce the side effects that come with having a fast paced game.
